Inferno: 3.5/5
Tom Hanks reprises his role as Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon in director Ron Howard and screenwriter David Koepp's adaptation of author Dan Brown's bestselling novel Inferno, which finds Langdon using Dante's The Divine Comedy as a tool in the race to prevent a devastating global pandemic.
Reprising the character of Robert Langdon for the third time is obviously giving Tom Hanks sweaty nightmares: At the start of “Inferno,” he wakes up drenched, bloody and having flashbacks to some kind of medieval battle re-enactment.

MAGIFICENT SEVEN : 3/5
Farely have so many charismatic actors been used in a film that feels quite as soulless as Antoine Fuqua’s update of “The Magnificent Seven.” It’s one of those projects that should work on paper. The cast is perfectly assembled, and I’ve actually been a bigger fan than most of Fuqua’s recent old-fashioned morality plays like “The Equalizer” and “Southpaw.”
